Storing your food supplies when far from home is simple with the OZtrail Deluxe 4-Shelf Hanging Pantry. With 4 MDF shelves receiving added strength from supports sewn into the strong 600D polyester fabric, a full supply of canned and packaged food can be safely accommodated. The provision of a hanging rail in a separate compartment, as well as side pockets, adds even more space for food too.
Boasting a lightweight but sturdy frame, the hanging pantry stands at approximately 1.4m high and 92cm across, with shelves that are 48cms deep. So, your meat, veg and cereals can all be stored away without reducing accessibility. But the whole structure can also be quickly packed away into a super manageable size in one carrier bag for extreme portability.
Features:
Size (open): approx. 139 x 92 x 48cm
Size (packed): approx. 94 x 50 x 11cm
Another hassle-free purchase from Camping Central, followed by prompt delivery left me with my latest camping accessory: a camp cupboard. And not just any camp cupboard - an OZtrail Deluxe 4 Shelf Camp Cupboard Hanging Pantry. Quite the mouthful.
It arrived in a cardboard box which opened to reveal a unblemished, intact camp cupboard carry bag (fortunately containing a camp cupboard!)
Happily for me, the cupboard was simple to put together, the instructions were clear and easy to follow. It probably took me 15 minutes, solo.
Once up, the cupboard is surprisingly sturdy. The fabric (600D polyester apparently) is thick, quite heavy duty. It doesn't feel great - rough - but that's not such a big deal in a cupboard I suppose. The zips and velcro also seem sturdy and durable.
The removable MDF shelves are a nice touch - the solid surface offers many more storage possibilities. They are also surprisingly strong, taking the weight of a toddler (14kg) easily. The hard top is another bonus - it's really solid, a great use of that space.
There was a rather strong smell (kind of plasticy) that took a while to dissipate - a good few hours - some airing time probably wouldn’t hurt.
While taking it apart certainly wasn't difficult, it did take a bit of elbow grease - a testament to its sturdy construction I suppose. Tip: twist the poles apart, just pulling on them doesn't work. I was able to get it back in to its bag with no difficulty.
I'm not sure if I have understood this product properly - it has 'pantry' in its name so is obviously intended as kitchen item but I don't see any kitchen uses for the hanging rail (with full length room below). It struck me as a space best used for hanging clothes but I don't know too many people who need to hang their clothes while camping.
It actually came in very handy as storage when we were recently between houses for a couple of weeks... staying with friends it was great to have somewhere to hang our clothes while still having to go to work.
The camp cupboard is also great for games of hide & seek (the zip-up action really tricks them).
