Sharon: Hi I only want one Oz trail big Boy chair (the one rated to 150 kg). Is this possible? looking forward to hearing from you soon
Camping Central: Sorry Sharon, but we sell these as a set of 2 only. Not singles.
Sitting in the sun is one of my favourite pastimes so it was with joy in my heart that I ordered 2 OZtrail Big Boy Folding Chairs from Camping Central. Sure enough, a few days later they arrived, securely wrapped and in tip-top condition … and apparently brought the rain with them.
Fortunately the rain has to stop some time and I have now had some happy times, sitting in the sun with a book when I really ought to be doing something more useful (or more useful to others, at least). First of all, the Big Boy is a comfortable chair. The sitting position is slightly reclined and the wide, padded arms complete the (comfort) picture. The back and seat are also padded so you can sit comfortably for a long time (trust me, I have tried this!).
It’s called the Big Boy because it has a weight limit of 150kg - now I can’t say that I have tested it with anything approaching that weight (in fact I think the heaviest person in it so far is a whopping 75kg) but I can say that it’s big enough to sit comfortably with my legs tucked up under me.
I’m really quite taken with the combination of pockets and drink holders the Big Boy provides, especially the insulated pocket. Unfortunately it’s not quite deep enough to take a bottle of wine although it sits in there happily enough with lid left open. A tinnie, on the other hand, fits in perfectly, lid down.
The Big Boy uses a “Rugged 600D Polyester, coated fabric” so it’s nice and strong - shouldn’t have the problem I had once where the (canvas?) seat ripped in two under me! It actually feels quite soft and smooth for polyester.
So I’m very pleased with my Big Boy chair(s). So far I’ve only used it on the verandah at home but picnic and camping season is almost here and I’m looking forward to getting it out and about. It’s certainly light (less than 5kg) and compact so I envisage no problems with fitting it in and utilising that handy carrybag to get it wherever it needs to go. I’m looking forward to many more hours of sitting in the sun!
