There's no doubt that a sleeping bag is definitely an essential piece of camping gear. Considering it's the only thing between you and the outdoor elements, a good quality sleeping bag is a worthwhile investment that you will want to protect by looking after it properly. Here's how.
Even if you don't use your sleeping bag often, oil and dirt from your skin, sweat and dead skin cells can accumulate inside your sleeping bag. Yuk! If the thought itself isn't enough to motivate you to give it a good clean, these nasties can actually degrade the effectiveness of your sleeping bag's insulation by damaging the fibres that keep you warm at night.

Aussie Bush Tucker
Ever wondered what people ate in Australia before supermarkets arrived? Aboriginal people of Australia have lived off the land, eating 'bush tucker' for more than 50,000 years.
When the first European settlers arrived, many of them struggled to grow crops and make foods they were used to eating at home. Many crops failed in the early colonial days, and many settlers starved as a result, but some learnt about local foods from Aborigines, and were probably healthier for it!

Making Bush Tucker: Easy Stockman's Damper
Damper was traditionally made by Australian stockman over an open fire as a staple source of energy. Simple to make, it tastes great with a cup of tea, dipped in golden syrup or with cold meats.
Best eaten on the day it is made, bush damper is a favourite recipe you can still make in an open fire on your next camping trip.
